Not surprising really…

FTSE-100 at close on 2nd Nov 2011Tuesday’s bet was lost almost immediately, though it remains to be seen whether the bounce is just a technicality or I called it completely wrong and should have stuck to my original plan of buying below the 20 dma. I think the latter is doubtful as the markets hate uncertainty, but you never know! A Greek default would be such a serious event due to the potential domino effect on the rest of the Eurozone that I cannot see the markets staying positive for long.

A bit late, but here goes…

I have sold December FTSE with a 100 point margin at 5355 (index at 5382). I should have done it this morning really, but I think there is still quite a way to go down. With things being so up in the air though, events could easily prove me wrong, so it is a rather speculative punt.

Didn’t see that coming!

FTSE-100 at 31st October 2011The Greek prime minister has offered his citizens a referendum on the Eurozone debt deal, meaning that everything is up in the air again, and the markets have gone into freefall. What is he going to do if the people reject the deal? My 250 point dip has been exceeded already and it’s anyone’s guess how low we could go. Shame I didn’t take the risk and bet on it. (I was wondering why the conspirators were so keen that I shouldn’t!) I still think, however, that a deal will be done to restore confidence to the markets, even if it means Greece going bankrupt, but it could take a while.
